As a non-profit organisation, our resources are limited, so we can only manage enquiries and bookings during specific periods. For December 2025 bookings will open at 9:00 am on 1 December 2025, and we’ll also be available to respond to queries from that time. We understand this may not be ideal, but unfortunately, we’re unable to provide administrative support outside these dates. It’s important to understand that our main staff work entirely on a voluntary basis. Thank you for your understanding and patience. Please complete the Referral Form. All submissions will be reviewed from 9:00 am on 1 December 2025, and we’ll respond within three working days from that date.
Who do you support?
We support primary aged children with SEN needs, either diagnosed or suspected. We will have some spaces for 1:1 care however these are subject to staff availability, we hope to increase this offering over time. Otherwise, there will be a high staff-child ratio.
We support children experiencing EBSA providing trauma-informed support in aiming to build up trust (please note the venue is in a school setting however this will be explored with the young person). Some staff have personal lived experience of EBSA.
We support siblings within our sibling group where they can participate in fun activities whilst also join in with some short and targeted activities exploring the pressures of being a SEN sibling.
How will you keep my child safe!
We consider safety of the children at every step and have relevant policies and procedures in place to support this. A full risk assessment with parents/carers will be carried out before attendance. Many of the staff have personal lived experience of parenting children with SEN, including children with demand avoidance, those who climb everything and those who run!
What does my child need to bring?
This will be discussed on a person-to-person basis however we encourage children to bring some safe objects and will allocate each child a safe space/den to put these objects (e.g. teddies, figures, books etc).
We support children wearing clothes that feel safe, including onesies etc (if weather permits!). However, please note that we cannot guarantee these clothes will not get messy!
How will you meet my child’s sensory needs?
Prior to attendance sensory needs will be identified. We offer dark dens, sensory equipment such as spinning chair, hammocks, fidget toys and many more!
We will be encouraging, if the child needs this, participation in sensory circuits.
Each activity has been assessed for sensory needs, e.g. noise, sound, texture etc and measures put in place to reduce this.
Do you support with personal care?
This will be assessed and discussed on an individual basis.
What experience do the staff team have?
At Neurokind Space we value staff with lived experience of either being neurodivergent or parenting a SEN child.
Staff will also have all mandatory training in line with OFSTED expectations.
Staff will each have a specific lead, some being PDA, Anxiety, EBSA, Sensory Integration.
What are the costs of the sessions?
Our full-day sessions range from £45 to £55, with a significant sibling discount available at £30 per day. We’re committed to keeping our fees as affordable as possible for families. However, it’s important to note that we rely heavily on donations to sustain these rates. Without continued support, we wouldn’t be able to maintain this pricing, so fees may be subject to change. One-to-one provision can be arranged, with costs determined by individual needs to ensure each child receives the right level of support.
Timings may vary for each holiday club, but the proposed schedule will be displayed when bookings for that specific club open.
Can I use my short breaks hours with this service?
Currently not, however aiming to explore this as an possibility in the near future!
Food and drink
We know that children with Autism and other Neurodivergent conditions often have safe foods. We therefore ask that parents/carers provide a packed lunch for the day. The club will provide AM and PM snack. We are a nut free environment. Children who are eligible for free school meals – please discuss this with staff during referral process.
What sorts of activities will be available at the club?
We hold a zero-pressure policy on participation. For children who benefit from structure we will support them with individual pictorial routines. For demand avoidant children we will assess what, if any, pictorial support they require.
We will have activities in the AM and PM and the children will get to choose between two options, one on the whole more active and the other quieter! There will be a balance of free/sensory play with targeted sensory / water etc stations set up for this. We avoid competitive language and activities! We avoid large groups in the activities.
Some examples of activities are; didi car mania, water battles, slime station, safe archery, arts/crafts, beauty/hair sessions, bouncy slides, forest school, gardening, jewellery making and guest visits from animal handlers with SEN experience or sensory/music therapy. We understand some children really struggle with animals so another option will be provided.
